Access
DDA lift

A screw-driven platform lift designed specifically to meet Australia’s DDA standards. The Access DDA carries 400 kg, needs a pit of only 100 mm, and requires no machine room. A Kalea lift brand, supplied, installed and serviced across Western Australia by Lift Design.

Built To Australia’s DDA Standards

The Access DDA was designed specifically to meet Australia’s stringent DDA standards. From the double COP through to handrail and clearance requirements, it checks all the boxes for a worry-free accessibility solution. Handrails are uninterrupted, round, at least 600 mm long with rounded edges, set 50 mm clear of each wall and 900 mm above the platform floor. Buttons are 50 mm in diameter, illuminated and braille-marked, mounted between 900 mm and 1100 mm from the floor, with an alarm and phone button. The lift fully complies on every one of those points.

It is a screw-driven platform lift: the platform is attached to a nut travelling on an endless screw, so there is no machine room and no separate electrical cabinet, and headroom stays low. The pit is only 100–120 mm, or zero with a ramp, where a typical traction lift of this type needs a 1500 mm pit in reinforced concrete. Rated load is 400 kg on a 1100 x 1400 mm platform inside a 1500 mm finished shaft, with up to three stops and 6,000 mm of travel at 0.15 m/s. Power is 1 x 230 V or 3 x 400 V, drawing 3 kW through an asynchronous Motovario motor, and the lift is certified to EN 81-41. Operation is whisper quiet with low energy consumption, and the platform gives around 1.5 m² of standing space against roughly 0.6 m² in a traditional cabin lift of the same footprint.

Suitable indoors or out, the Access DDA comes with its own glass, steel or aluminium shaft — frameless glass gives a 360° panoramic view — in premium white matte powdercoat as standard, with black optional. Overhead is 2400 mm, or 2700 mm with the outdoor roof, which includes an exhaust fan as standard. An emergency phone runs on a landline or SIM, and remote monitoring is available over IoT. Every Access DDA is supplied, installed and serviced by Lift Design from our Perth and Albany showrooms.

Finishes & Door Options

A vandal-resistant stainless steel access panel, anti-slip checker plate flooring and a choice of swing or saloon doors.

The access panel is waterproof and weather-resistant patterned stainless steel, specified to resist vandalism and keep the lift going in exposed locations. The anti-slip checker plate floor is tough, highly resistant and easy to clean, in black with polished edges. Doors come as right or left hinged swing doors, semi-automatic with an optional hidden door opener and a black handrail as standard, giving a 954 mm clear opening; or as saloon doors, fully automatic with a 916 mm clear opening. All doors have a 2100 mm clear height. Accessories include IP65 call buttons, an IP65 call post for remote openings and an IP67 password or fingerprint lock. Allow 20 mm extra each side of the cut-out, plus 30 mm on the side adjacent each door.
